PowerLossMonitor PLM
The PowerLossMonitor is a system to determine power losses, specifically of water-cooled components. These could be, for example, optical components, such as mirrors in a beam-steering system, or special beam absorbers.
The system determines the flow rate and temperature increase of the cooling medium between ingress and egress. Based on this data, the absorbed power is determined.
The main components of the measuring system:
- Two temperature sensors
- A flow meter
- Measurement electronics, read-out and connections
In general the flow meter and a temperature sensor are integrated in the housing. The 2nd temperature sensor can also be mounted on external optics or an absorber.
